GAA Coaching & Games Development Notes September 14th
 
Wheelchair Hurling starts Thur 17th Sept

In conjunction with Waterford Sports Partnership we are running a 4 week programme of Wheelchair Hurling. This is open to anyone over 16 years of age and is suitable for disabled and non-disabled athletes. It runs in Kingfisher Sports Hall from 6pm-7pm each Thursday. Diversity Festival Hurling Open Day Friday

As part of the Waterford Diversity Festival we are running an open day for Hurling in Walsh Park on Friday evening from 4pm – 5.30pm. We hope to see people who wish to play Hurling (Children & Adults) at this event. Equipment will be provided on the day so feel free to come along.

Award 1 Adult Coaching Course October

An Award 1 Adult Coaching Course will run in Waterford in October/November. This is for coaches who are coaching teams from Minor upwards. The course will run in Colaiste Cathal Naofa, Dungarvan starting on Mon 19th Oct. Gaelic Football Mini Leagues ongoing

The U11 & U12 Gaelic Football Mini Leagues are running each week until mid October in East and West Waterford. Clubs are reminded to contact fixtures coordinators if any changes need to be made to games. Full fixtures are available on www.waterfordgaa.ie

Hurley/Helmet Subsidy Finished

This year’s Hurley/Helmet Subsidy has come to a close. Clubs will receive payments by end of September for Hurleys purchased through the scheme with approved Hurley makers during the year.

The GAA Coach Education website is a very useful resource for all coaches. Information on coaching courses, workshops, presentations from conferences along with session planning templates are all available. Congratulations to Waterford Camogie All Ireland Winners

Well done to Waterford Camogie on winning the All Ireland Intermediate Championship last Sunday. A fantastic achievement for all involved in the Camogie County Board and it will be great see Waterford playing Senior Camogie Championship in 2016.
