Tony Forristal & Sonny Walsh U14 Hurling Saturday 27th Aug
After a 3 year covid enforced break the Tony Forristal & Sonny Walsh Tournaments make a welcome return to Waterford this Saturday 27th Aug. A bumper day of action lies ahead with 16 teams from 8 counties will take part in 20 games in 6 venues across Waterford City. Teams from Waterford, Cork, Wexford, Tipperary, Laois, Kilkenny, Kerry & Meath will be taking part in the 2022 competitions.
Action gets underway at 11.3oam in Mount Sion, Roanmore, De La Salle, Erin’s Own, St Saviour’s & SETU Arena Carriganore with all teams playing a quarter final. Winners of these games progress to Cup Semi Finals at 1pm in same venues with losers playing Shield Semi Finals. Sonny Walsh Cup & Shield Finals take place in De La Salle Gracedieu with Shield Final 2.30pm and Cup Final 3.30pm. Tony Forristal Finals take place in Mount Sion with Shield Final 2.30pm and Cup Final 3.30pm.
The organising committee have been busy in recent weeks planning for the day and working with members of the Forristal & Walsh Families who are part of the committee along with Déise Óg Games Development Staff. Referees, Coordinators and helpers for the various tasks to be undertaken on the day.
We are looking forward to an excellent day of Hurling with 20 top class games in store. Admission is free to all venues with all welcome to come along and support the young players from Waterford and beyond.
