What is Well!Kids?
Well!Kids is a new and innovative GAA club nursery programme aimed at 4-6 year old boys and girls. It is a key project as part of the ‘Waterford Rising’ 2022-2030 Strategic Plan (https://www.waterfordgaa.ie/rising/) launched by Waterford GAA in February 2021. Six clubs from across the county took part in the trial of Well!Kids last year with overwhelmingly positive feedback coming from all six.
The primary aim of Well!Kids is to attract young children and parents of all backgrounds to our GAA clubs. Fun and enjoyment are at the core of Well!Kids and we are aiming for a top class coaching experience for children across County Waterford.
In addition, it is very important that connection and belonging is generated through the active participation of parents in the programme. By using unique equipment and creating a fun, enjoyable environment, we hope that kids and parents respond positively and ultimately engage with our clubs in a more meaningful way.
What is on the agenda for the Information Evening?
The event will cover the plans and aims for Well!Kids for 2022, why your club should engage with Well!Kids, feedback from our trial clubs, details on the equipment and jerseys clubs will receive if taking part and a Q&A session.
The Well!Kids Project Workgroup members are Brian O’Halloran, Fergal Hartley, Kevin Ryan, Eoin Morrissey, Eoin Breathnach, John Quinn, David Robinson and Barry Dunne.
